Setting
Up Outlook Express
- Double-click Outlook Express.
- Click
Tools, then Accounts.
- Click
the Mail tab.
- Click on
Add, Mail.
- In the Name
box, enter your full name. Capital letters and spaces are
acceptable.
- In
the Organization box, enter the name of your company or organization. This
is optional.
- In the E-mail
address box, enter you e-mail address. This should be in lower case and contain
no spaces. It is in the format username@i2k.com
- In
the Reply address box, enter an e-mail address if you want people to reply
to a different address than above. This should be in lower case and contain
no spaces. It is in the format username@i2k.com
- Tick
the box for Include this account when doing a full Send and Receive.
- Click
the Servers tab.
- In the
Outgoing mail (SMTP): box, ensure mail.i2k.com is entered.
- In
the Incoming mail (POP3): box, ensure mail.i2k.com is entered.
- Within
the Incoming "Mail Server" section, select Log on using.
- In
the Account name box, enter your username. This should be in lower case. This
is the first part of your e-mail address before the @ sign.
- Check
the box My server requires authentication.
- Click
the Connection tab.
- Select
the option Connect using my phone line
- From
the Use the following Dial-Up Networking connection select Global Internet.
- Click
the Advanced tab.
- Untick
the following boxes: This server requires a secure connection
(SSL).
- Click
Use defaults button if its available.
- Set
the Server timeouts to 1 minute.
- Untick
the box Leave a copy of messages on the server.
- Click
OK then Close.
