Setting
Up Windows 2000
1. Select Control Panel from the Start menu.

2. Double click the Network and Dialup Connections
icon.

3. Double click the Make New Connection icon.

4. The Network Connection Wizard begins, click the
next button.

5. Select Dial-up to the Internet and click the
next button.

6. Select I want to set up my Internet connection
manually, or I want to connect through a local area network (LAN) and
click the next button.

7. Select I connect through a phone line and a
modem and click the next button.

8. Select your modem from the drop down menu. Most
likely the default one displayed is the correct one. Then click the next
button.

9. Enter your area code in the Area code field and
your local number in the Phone number field. Click the advanced button.

10. Click the Connection tab. Select PPP (point to
Point Protocol) and place a check mark next to Disable LCP Extensions.
Under Logon procedure select None. Click the OK button.

11. Click the next button.

12. Enter your username and password in the
appropriate fields and click the next button.

13. In the Connection name field enter I-2000 and
click the next button.

14. If this your e-mail account is not yet set up
select Yes and click the next button.

15. In the Display name field, enter your full name
as you would like it to appear in e-mail and click the next button.

16. Enter your e-mail address in the field and
click the next button.

17. Select POP3 from the drop down menu. Enter
mail.i2k.com for both the incoming and outgoing e-mail servers. Then click
the next button.

18. Enter your e-mail username and password and
click the next button.

19. Click the finish button.

Your connection is all set.
